Can't I find a presmog 4x4 pickup for sale? There are K5s EVERYWHERE, no trucks. I know his is the wrong forum, but I'm curious as to why.

Here it's 35 years. I think you may be right with the 1975 cut off date for Cali, IIRC.

It is fixed at 75 here in Cali. The 30 year sliding mark went away in 2005.

75 and older are exempt. It used to be 30 years untill april of '05 IIRC. I wish it still were 30 years, my truck would be exempt

Alot of folks in CA (at least where I just moved from) realized that pre-smog status holds value and as a result either didn't sell their truck or jacked up the price.

I got a nice '83 4x4 pickup in CA, and it's diesel and therefore exempt.

you my friends SUCK! psh...all of these states w/o any smog junk...its so dumb, sort of like peeing in the pool...unless every state is going to have the same standards what's the point? Thats one of the only things I absolutely hate Cali for...

Have you checked craigslist for here in Fresno? I know it'd be a little bit of a drive but I know for a fact that there are pre-75 trucks (sometimes blazers too) on the local craigslist...
