I pulled my 6.2 after taking a year and some months after I started . Anyway when I started I took all the wires and odds and ends off the engine . Well today i finally removed the engine . Now I going to clean the engine that is going in . So I need some help with setting the wiring up . Is there a manual that shows how the wiring goes and just how everything bolts up . If somebody has pics that would be great maybe a before and after ? Thanks

I cant help with pictures, but a 6.2 in a square body doesn't have many wires, and most will only reach where they need to go,so its not that hard to figure out...
There is a thick pink or red wire that goes to the fuel shutoff solenoid on the injector pump, two green wires linked together also plug onto the fast idle solenoid and cold start advance solenoid on the injector pump--there is another single green wire going to the temperature sending unit on the front drivers side of the head, and on the rear of the passenger side head there is a two prong plug with green wires that also controls the injector pump cold advance, they go to a sending unit..

Then there are glow plug wires to each glow plug,a red wire that goes to the glow plug relay from the battery, and the typical starter and alternator wiring which is the same as a gas engine..

I can help also as mine isn't as molested as some, I also have an 84 if that makes any difference.

I know there are some cab wiring differences between the 82-83 trucks and the 84+ trucks, but I think they are the same under the hood (electrically). There is so little under the hood that I doubt he'll have difficulty figuring it out. I can grab a picture of my unmolested '83 or my slightly-hacked-up '84 engine bay if there are specific questions.
