i just put a 6" rough country lift on my k5 and now have a wicked vibration in the drive train that wasn't their before the lift went in. what would be the most likely culprit, u-joint ?

was there any correction made for driveshaft angles? AFAIK, 6" lifts normally need a shim to get them matching again.

well if the angles are right, then yes the next place to look would be the ujoints. I just replaced mine in the past couple of weeks, haha.

you dont think i could have messed up the R/P by leaving driveshaft connected during spring swap do you ?

i highly doubt it. I'm hoping some other guys on here will chime in, b/c i'm speaking from book-learning here, never done a spring lift in reality.

Doubt if you hurt the R&P
6" lift usually require a a longer driveline to get rid of vibration problems. Especially on a K5.

Do you think ill mess anything up in the drivetrain if I go wheeling on it this weekend?
YES!:eek1: Find the problem before you take it anywhere. U-joints may be in a bind or bad, and they could come apart if you take it wheeling without fixing it.:doah:

i have a 4" rough country lift on my k-5 and u should get an alignment done cause that fixed my issues do u have blocks on the rear if so the old bushings could be goin out tie rod ends where is the vibration coming from the u bolts that come in the rough country kit arent the greatest u could try to swap those out for better ones make sure the u bolts are flush against the leaf springs and you have tightened them down again after 100 miles

Look for something like this:

You may have some clearance grinding in your future...

What's your driveshaft angle like off the transfer case??I had the same problem on my jimmy after installing 6"lift and actually vibrated the transfer case loose off the tranny and stripped out the bolt holes :( ..Dropped the transfer case crossmember 1" and corrected driveline angle to solve vibration troubles!! Good luck solving the problem!!
