So from everything I read a 72" axle is the widest 14 bolt ff made correct? If that's true what vehicle/s did that come out of? thanks guys!

Thanks , wow dosent seem wide enough to clear inner fenders with 39's but guess it dose . Seems everyone runs one . What is the norm for axle width on a rock crawler trail rig?

I agree, basically i have a 12 bolt now with 35's on a 15x 10 rim 3" bs and there about 2" of clearance between inner fender well and tire (rear fenders).Ihave some 39x13.50 i want to put on but need to go bigger on axles. Just trying to see where i need to go with this thing .My thoughts are to get a 14bolt ff 70" wide and get some 17x 9 or 10 wheels with 3" bs just dont know if that will clear when it articulates. Then the next problem is the front is a dana 44 so need to know what to do up there dana 60??? How wide do those come so that i can be a hair wider than the rear. Oh and i have no problems cutting outter fenders.

If you got one with drw hubs that'd stick me out the most wouldn't it??

DRW 70s (what is under a dually) is widers and 14 drw like under a cc is the same width as every other truck axle.

Like marty said my truck works fine with 39s and it is a K30

Yeeeeah but no.

The DRW *hubs* are actually narrower than SRW, moves the wheel mounting surface IN. I know it sounds weird, but it's true. I have both.

There was a *wide* DRW 14BFF in a few late 80's duallies (that is NOT the cab-n-chassis one), but the D70 is much more common. The wide 14BFF dually does appear in 88+ trucks.

Either of those, the wide 14BFF DRW or the D70, would be the widest. You can add 2" to the WMS on each side by changing to SRW hubs. (You'll also have to change your brake mounting, but that's a whole other issue.)

My D70HD with SRW hubs comes to 77", which is the same width as a DRW D60. I run unmodified H1 double beadlocks with this setup. Just wheeled yesterday at 5 psi :D
