wierd body question

do any of yall have an issue where the tailgate makes contact on the upper corner of the body. this is my second k5 and both of them have had this problem. a buddy of mine actually lifted up on the rear drivers side bumper and the gap went away so it leads me to believe its not body bushings. any info?

Probably an issue with the hinges

How rusty is it? If the tail pan is "holy enough" it will allow the the tailgate to sag or the bedsides to sag/ lean as well.
