And maybe she is right... The truck has two mufflers and they dump before the rear axle. So I'm sure exhaust is building up under the truck. A local shop quoted me 120$ to run 2 1/2" pipe (or maybe 2 1/4 can't remember) from the mufflers and out behind each tire (that was my preference.) The truck is also very loud, impossible to talk inside, not sure what brand muffler is on it, didn't see any markings. I would like it much quieter if i could get it, i know 50 series flowmaster are popular, what other brand/series is recommended?
I'm hoping this setup will reduce sound and any exhaust gathering under the truck, think it will?

getting the exhaust out past the body will help with noise level a lot .

also get the muffler back past the seat area helps also .

I use to run 40 series delta flow flowmaster . now I run 50 series delta flow. its a lot better inside the cab of my truck .

and I prefer 1 single muffler over the 2 mufflers.

I thought about switching over to one but I'm guessing I would break even pipe wise since they would have to make a y etc. I'll ask them though. May try and take it over today.

my plow truck I ran for years no tail . muffler under flatbed was it.

then I added a tail pipe and turn down at the end of the bumper . . . . WOW :eek1: what a difference that made just the tail pipe .

Good. The guy at the shop was kinda glad that I stuck with the dual exhaust. He said it was a nice truck and I should do it right. It'll be a few hours but I'm excited to hear it. I've had the truck for a year and am just now really starting to be able to enjoy it.

Is the smell any better. I can't drive mine with the rear window down. I start to get a headache from fumes.

Yes I think so. My wife's bloodhound nose didn't detect anything. Even had window down 6-8".

To clarify she was not in the truck, she didn't smell fumes on me or my clothes.
