I dont know whether to be pissed or happy. She went to her friends down at Ft.Bragg this weekend and calls me to tell me what shes looking at and then brings home pictures. She really wants me to buy this but I'd probably end up selling the k-5 if I bought it.

Another option would be to pull the engine/tranny/transfer (all only have 5k miles on them but shes been sitting for a year) out of the 89 K-5 and put it in here, How hard would that be

What do you think

Oh yea she wants to paint it the same color as hers which is parked infront it

I'll say it again - I would love it. And yes, I would sell the K5 and buy it.
:haha::haha::haha:

I just noticed the plate are from oklahoma....no rust

If it didnt have rust, would it be worth 5k?

dude, stop crying. I wish my wife would say, "go buy yourself that '70 Burb or Duramax you've been wanting...forget my x-over SUV" What's cool is that SHE took the time to go check it out & think of you. That is one sweet GMC...it'd be better if it were a Chevy tho. Trash the K5 and keep this one!

If it truely is rust free I think it is worth $5k easily. Sure looks good in those pics except for the rims - they definitely aren't my style or that Burb's style!

I saw that jewel on egay a while back, and it looked to be in great shape. I would buy that in a heartbeat!

Nice looking rig!! But then I may be slightly biased.

Buy it sell the 20's, or lift it huge and get some taller tires for the 20's so it looks better, that is if you want it huge.

Definately keep the wife!!

on the motor swap if the 89 is fuel injected do the swap, if it was me I would just swap the motor and keep the tranny and transfer as is. A new wiring harness from Howell or somebody, new computer etc and it would be great.

Hey anyone interested in that truck let me and I could get some more/better pics for you. I have no idea who it belongs to but I am on Pope A.F.B. (a smaller base inside Ft Bragg). If anyone is interested let me know what you want pics of. I might even be willing to test drive it for you if needed/wanted.

I had a budy of mine go look at it for me and he saw a little rust and some Bondo issues but If you go by it Id be interested to know what the bottom looks like, Im seriously thinking about getting it but I dont want to get into the same problems with rust that the K-5 had

I will run by tom and get some pictures of it. I assume the older model had the same rust prone area as the 88's did? I will post them here Friday afternoon/evening.

Thanks, I got your PM and looked at it on my Blackberry while I was driving home, All I saw was your sig and was like wtf :doah:

Thanks,

Im really wanting this but I'm kinda skered, 5k for something sight un-seen is not my normal game but if the rust looks minimal (and I know there is a little around the doors) and the bondo isnt that bad.......I think I might.........get a tow rig........:doah:

I stopped by at lunch and got the pics for you. I will post them on here this evening.

Here are the pics I took. If you want anything more I can get them for you. I did not crawl around underneath of it becuase the ground was still damp and in a freshly pressed uniform but can get some more later if your still interested.

There's only 2 rigs i would sell my blazer for.......thats one of them.

The other is the railroad crewcab, which i was so close to buying an original about a month ago.....the guy sold it b4 i could get there.

It definitely needs some work, but if I owned an 89 blazer, I'd sell it for that.

Not to mention the wife's blessing!! Holy Crap!! :doah:

Do you have any idea how much THAT's worth?

Man, I'd beg borrow & steal, to get something like that if my wife WANTED it. That's like a open credit card with no limit!! Sheesh!

Later,
Buddy

That burb is a gem... k5's are a dime a dozen and waaaay easier to find than a classic like that. looks like there are some hokey things goin on (blocked up gas tank) but all in all good bones.

OBW take the wifes advise and get her... maybe she will tell you you have to buy another k5 in a few months.
