Wife's 77 Monza. "The Black Dragon" as she calls it.

Yep, early s10 spindles and everything that goes with em.
And the S10 rear axle is the most common swap there too.
Plus, the s10 booster is what most people use to convert to power brakes. So I figured if I'm using the rear brakes, front brakes and booster from an s10. Might as well use that master along with it and have a matched setup.

I know where there's a 2wd square one that's been sitting for a LONG time.
I'm going to stop and ask about it one of these days

In order to use the s10 spindles all you have to do is use taper sleeves on the stock ball joints.

Some guys modify the arms to accept the s10 ball joints. Well use tapers for now, and maybe swap if I ever build arms like I want to.

Back around '00, my future brother in law bought an '80 Monza Spyder from a guy that used to come into the shop I worked at. It had a 12 bolt rear swapped into it with 5 lug Cragars. The front had 4 lug Cragars (4 spokes, lol) and we always wondered how guys swapped the front to 5 lug.

Unfortunately he didn't have it long. Someone ran him off the road and he hit a tree. It severely buckled the passenger rocker and trwisted the body. It even broke one of the 4 spoke Cragars.

You can still get the 4 spoke cragars lol.
Ugly as sin, and built for side x sides.
Like an 800# rating each. And I'm sure not DOT approved.
Oh... And only 12".Screenshot_20260417-101111.png

Did something right with my mild tuning skills.
Standing burnout with out 2 pedaling it.

Now just if there were 2 of them

Could have been longer, but I backed out, since the rest of the car didn't sound as happy lol.

Sweet, keep it up, and you’ll have a reason to improve that rear axle!

Fuel cell in the trunk reared it's head today.
And just solidified the fact that I'm putting a stock tank back in it.IMG_20260501_163948098_HDR.jpg
She smelled gas coming home from school with it, and found that there was gas all over in the trunk that had came from this cap.IMG_20260501_163943600_MP.jpg

I backed it all the way up as far as possible. Wrapped Teflon around it, and cranked it back down as tight as possible.

It also kind of looked like it leaked around the wire inlet too .IMG_20260501_163953116_MP.jpg

I have some gas tank sealant I'm going to put around both for now.

But a new tank is going to happen soon.

I can get a new tank for $450-$500.
But the sending unit, is a whole nother story.

Can't find a new one anywhere.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to say fug it and do one of the holley retro fit unit.
Which gives me an in tank pump for the future EFI anyway :dunno:

Do those units just go in place of the stock unit?
Doesn't look like they use the oring and clamp ring.

Jay Hovick owns Jay's H-Shack in Iowa. He rebuilds them or sells them both.

try that

Don't have what I need, but cool resource for aure :thumb:
And only a day drive round trip for me.

Already have that one sitting in my cart at summit. :waytogo:
Waiting on a decision if I'm going to buy the holley retrofit pump unit and one of their universal sending units for it or not. Whole package is just shy of a grand.
Then I'd have to add a regulator and return line also.
But those I could do later when we shut it down for the year.

Only if it fit underneath where the factory one goes. :dunno:

Guess I never thought about seeing if one would fit.

I was going to just buy the tank, then I can measure everything to get the level sender and pump deal.
