Nice little car until I broke a cam.
I was going to put a 3.8 chevy in mid engine configuration but couldn't find the 66 manual transmission that could accept that engine.
I sold it a kid in high-school

Nice little car until I broke a cam.

I came across this Sunbird on the other side of town and was reminded of your Monza.
Well.
We have some work to do.
And being a unibody, it definitely scares me. Because that feels a lot more intricate and dangerous than doing a fender.
Since I can't find floor pans, I'll have to fab some, and I'm afraid some bend or valley thing in it, I'll just make flat or something will be a needed stress piece or something.
Maybe I'm overthinking it like I tend to do with EVERYTHING, lol. But it is going to be daunting.
She likes doing this car her self. But she's not a welder, let alone sheet metal.

As long as you can get something fitted in there, it will be far better than it is now. I know of some guys that just rough trim some 18ga sheet, beat it into place and weld it. It's very crude, but it gets the job done.
Don't worry about the details if it's going to get covered anyway. Ugly (or at least "different than original") can be just as strong as pretty.

Probably do that next time on nights.
Just making them wouldn't be hard, it's just the thought of dimples and stampings add strength.
So if a CAN I might add some ribbing or angle underneath for strength.
Might be the perfect time to just add subframe connectors.
You know, in case we add power later lol

I bought her a stereo for this for our anniversary.
And by chance it actually was delivered today, on our 12th anniversary. Lol.
So instead of going out to a fancy hotel and restaurant and all that jaz.
We spent the day together in the shop, installing most of her stereo.
Best anniversary yet I think.
We have door speakers too, but I may look into doing kick pods instead. Not sure yet.
There's like 3-4 pics I thought I took, but for some reason I don't have., so this is all I have of the process.
We had to make a board for the rear deck and cut out some of the original to fit the 6x9's.
And since we had it, we went with furry instead of vinyl. Lol.

Really gotta get the door seals replaced too so we don't flood the floor in the future.
