I looked through the endless picture thread and didnt see any wild or crazy paint schemes. What gives? LoL..some of ya'll have wild rides, why not wild paint.

I was wanting to do a monster energy type paint scheme, but wonder about getting the decals free from monster. what say thee.

i hate the wild 80s paint schemes but i love like rally cars/core trucks. i think u should try and make it like one of those with monster decals

How about this!!!! Its custom and cheap!! This is tagged by some guys in town using only spray paint!! I try to change it every year or so. I'll get a pix of the new paint soon.

I find my urban Smurf camo actually works; my theory is that it's so odd that people subconsciously ignore it, hoping it'll go away. :haha:

If I do another, I'm thinking of something in the "digital camo" genre, possibly with non-traditional colors again. (I've always wanted to do a camo truck in day-glo "safety" orange and green, but I think it would give me headaches even driving it :D )

same truck, about 4 months difference... the green is going to get black leaves over it this spring (yeah, when there's leaves on the trees), and the 86K-914, RECOVERY back on it, too...)

that's 25 year old DuPont hemi orange that was rolled on this past mother's day...

I think AJ's blazer has the best paint scheme on his '72 K5. It's a bit old school but still pretty sweet. He said, and I agree with him, that at first he didn't like it much but overtime it grew on him. Very '80's but sweet.

Also, member, MNSTRBURBAN had his with the Monster Energy theme and looked cool but he just rattle canned over it flat black again. If you want Monster stickers to put on your rig you can go to just about any good sized motorcycle / dirt bike retailer and they sell the huge Monster stickers. I just saw them at the local KTM dealer where I live. They are about 16" wide and about 24" tall and in the monster green color.

IS there supposed to be a picture here??

BTW i like dremu's urban camo and i've also had the idea of digital camo on my Blazer. That would be a tedious ass job though i think

EDIT: Figured i'd throw this out there. I really like it but wish it had more of the dark green :dunno:

Took me a coupla weekends to do my crewcab, masking the edges and everything. That Smurf job I just did by hand ... quicker, and it shows. :dunno:

As for digital camo on a K5, it's been done...

Another one that came up in a search... not digital, but not the CUCV blob-style camo either...

The top one is one of the M1009 patterns, maybe the older style, which I did up in a bunch of color combos to see what made me laugh the most =)) ... and the others, well, apparently I was in a Marlin Perkins mood L:DL

I forgot to put a pix!!

The old blue paint is when I first got the truck. Since then, it has had two paint jobs. The wild one is the first one, don't have a current picture of it now, but i'll get one up

oh no front fender needs to come up a bit lines dont match. :doah:

loks good tho.

Look again at the body lines...they're straight. The PO did a lousy job hanging the fender and door before paint. So....when I straightened out all the body panels to get the body lines right, well...the graphics got jacked up. Oh well, it'll get repainted eventually.

Current pictures of the paint

Here are a few pix of the new paint on it. Still only spray paint, and cost about $20!!! What do you all think?
