Will 86' gas tank work in a 90'?

I have a 90' k5 with a leaky gas tank...I have a tank from a 86' k5..
will the 86' work in the 90'??? They're both 31 gallon tanks...I was wondering if a fuel injected truck has a different tank.

The 87-up tanks have different baffling internally, to prevent fuel pump starvation. An 86 tank is the same size, but you may starve the fuel pump if you let the tank get low.
