Will a 1980 K5 grille insert be a straight swap (dimensionally and attachment points) for the grille insert in a 1985 K5?

I love that awesome egg-crate look from '80, and would like to have a readily available '80 repro grille prepped and shot to match the rest of the midnight blue '85 Blazer when I have it repainted in the factory color this spring. Thanks in advance for any info.

Check LMC or JCWhitney for year compatability. I think LMC has a section in the front of their catalog dedicated to this. For fenders etc...the years are 1973 - 1980. 1981 - 1986 are different, but grilles might be different than fenders. Also, if your truck is ugly like mine, you can always figure out a way to screw/wire/tape/glue the damn thing on there.

Well, it looks like '81 was a sea change, so I'm out of luck. I see a lot of blingy overpriced billet grilles, but I just want that big egg-crate look, like the 1980 grilles. Oh well, a good custom shop can probably make you anything if you throw enough money at it :(
