Will a 4.3L starter fit on a 350?

My starter is fried and one of my friends has a 4.3 starter layin around. Any one know if it will work on a 350? Are the teeth and mounting holes the same?

if they both have the same size flywheel (153 or 168 tooth) then the answer is, usually. Most 4.3's are 168tooth flywheels, since they were only really put in small trucks.

Since I've had smallblock starters that don't fit other smallblocks, I'll never just say the answer is 'yes'. the answer is most likely, but try it before you buy it =)

I am having a lot of the same problems as in the other mentioned post. With the exception of a loud banging sound that happens with the distributor on.

It is weird though. I have started it and ran it 4-5 times so far....
