The truck in runing ok. Just needs a new power steering pump. they look the same.

Thanks mike

When I mounted the 6.2 hydroboost on a 350 I had to modify the brackets. The actual pumps appear to be the same, at least the part numbers are the same according to partsamerica.com. However the reservoirs are different. The 6.2 hydroboost reservoir has a barbed fitting for the extra return line. Also the shape of the reservoir must be different, hence the necessity of modifying the brackets.

Hope that helps.

I have an 84 CUCV and with a little creativity I was able to mount the power steering pump on a 350 SBC. Getting rid of the old desiel was the best thing I ever did.

I could not make the diesel pump fit my '73 small block brackets. I scored the brackets for a hydro boost pump off a small block in a P model (step van, bread truck, Little Debbie, etc.) van. One bracket still required a little relief work with the grinder to get the diesel pump to fit. LOL!
