will a msd 6al set up for 4 or 6 cylinder cars work on my k5?

just bidded on a msd 6al on ebay for my blazer. but i was reading the install manuel online and it says somthing bout removing a cover and cuting wires to make it work for a 4 or 6 cylinder. so now im worried bout the msd i bidded on was on a smaller engine if i could make it work on my v8?

solder the wires back together if need be . yes it will work fine.

thas good to hear. ya i seen him posting on here. im hoping he will chime in on how to remove the main cover on the msd to get at the wires easier if it was set up for a smaller engine

There is no cover to remove. Here is a screen shot from MSD's website telling you what to do.
