Will a newer 4L60E-B filter fit a TH700R4?

I was gonna change oil and filter in a TH700 tranny today, but discovered that all I had was a 4L60E-B filter, for '98 and up trannies. It's shaped a little differently. Before I pull the pan, does anybody know if that will fit right in or if I have to wait until monday to go buy a 700 filter?

The 4l60e and 700r4 filters are different. In fact there are at least 4 different 4l60e filters that I can think of, and none of them are interchangable either.

You'll have to go back and get the correct filter before you pull the pan.

Yes, they are indeed different... The 4L60E-B filter even has a square ridge sticking up half an inch on the overside where it meets the tranny... Oh well, guess I can write that off as not being done today then.
