Would the skin from a 6ft gm truck bed match with blazer rear quarter panel? Ever do it before and how did it turn out? Seems like it would be easier to cut the skin from the 6ft gm truck bed and match it to the blazer rear quarter panel. That way you dont have to replace the whole panel with foreign steel and keep it OEM.

wow u read my mind, i was just gonna post the same things... I got 2 rear bed sides that are trimmed out, i wanna make it look stock again...

I would be surprised it they did. We swapped a pickup cab onto my buddies K5 frame, and there's definitely less space between the rear wheel and the door on a K5.

I suppose you could trim them to fit.

On our 72 k-5 we were going to buy shortbed bedsides, and then cut and weld in the door jamb. I have heard of others doing this. I can't see why it wouldn't work. I believe the difference is between the door and the tire, not the tire to the tailgate.

Lots do this since quarters are getting hard to come by. Just need to trim side by door a bit shorter, otherwise same everything.

aside from blazer being shorter the gas filler is in the wrong spot and youll have to figure out the top bed rail to to bolt your top back on. other than that i cant think of anything else.

If the distance from the outside of the tailgate to the centerline of the rear is the same then the quarters will match. But will the gas filler hole match up? Which may not be a problem.
What i'm propossing to do is leave the blazer top rail, tailgate and door posts inplace. Then remove the outer skin off of the quarter except in those areas previously mentioned.
