Ok i wont to put a 2 1/2 inch lift to make my truck sit higher cause it doesnt sit high anuff for me and my dad doesnt wont me to cause he says it wont fit in out garages. right nw when i pull it in a clear 2 to maybe 3 inches and when if i do get the lift i wont to go to 33/s on 15 10 s maybe and i was wondering if anyone here has any ideas of how to get the lift and tires and still be able to fit it in the garage.

Thanks Clint /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Air the tires down to drive into the garage, then back up when you're out of the garage. Of course, that means getting an air compressor.

Or take a sledge hammer to the upper part of the garage door. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

We have a really big compressor im thinking 50 60 gallons and its 5 to 6 horsces, so u think it would fit like that.

get some ghetto wheels/ tires to use to put it in the garage to work on it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You don't have to lift to get 33's on the truck. May need a little fender trim or don't worry about the rub when flexing over rocks. I am running 33's with stock suspension and wheels on a '89 Suburban 1/2ton. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

...and don't even think about unhooking the swaybar.

Well, you do have a point. Do you know what year garages will fit a 73-91 K5? We do definately need the type of garage door. What's the best garage door, barn style or roll-up? Oh wait, I forgot those chain drive thingies also. Do you know if the grease on those chains makes a difference with the fitment?

I've heard aircraft grease is model specific, so which would be better, Cessna grease or Boeing 767 grease?

The barn style has its advantages if you wish to park a tractor or something hillbillish of that nature in the garage. The roll ups work pretty good. I personally prefer the chain driven whatchamadinger garage doors. I tried out the geardrive version but it was pretty noisy although it'll never strech like a chain will.
