will not fire

hey youall,


1980 k5 blazer with a stock 350cid i change the hei in. new houseing,new cap and roter and coil. i bring 1 cyd top tpdc comp stroke then i drop it in there wire it up.will turn over and nothing happens i think the coil?PLEASE HELP

Did you set the timing yet?

Probably 180 out. reset to TDC number one cylinder, spin dizzy around 180 (to number 1 or 6, whatever it is currently NOT on)

Then try again!

Is it a new or used HEI? I bought a used HEI to put in my '72 I had in high school, dropped it in and wouldn't fire. I double checked everything and couldn't figure it out. A friend came over and he noticed that the timing advance was not working. He went and grabbed one he had, dropped it in and it fired right up. Hope you get it running.
