Will these headers work with my engine?

I'm sure they will, I bought mine for 20 having no idea what they were for, I had to removed the passanger side bump stop, other then that I was fine. you'd shouldn't really have any trouble. i'd say go for it.

bolt up to engine, sure... fit in a blazer, doubtful... they look like headers for a streetrod or something....

You'd be better off just buying the cheapie $75 summits than 50 on those...

you never answered me on whether you had A.I.R on the exhaust or not..

im not sayin they wont but all the headers i have owned for my truck and even my camaro have been routed around the starter and it looks like those wouldnt clear it, the driver side is no problem but if they dont drop low enough it wont clear ur shift linkage, just by lookin i dont think u will be able to tell, for 50 bux they look like a steal, even if they dont fit u could retrofit those and make some fenderwell headers, thats a big cool factor lmao

I am not sure if I have A.I.R or not, I did not notice any plugs going in or out of my stock manifold, should I just post some pics, would that help?

Ryoken, I will probably just get those ones you reccomened via PM.

yeah, take some pics...

I'd get the hookers... ya just wanna make sure you order them with A.I.R if you need it... high quality header for 150...

I called this place called lopars, and they have hooker headers for my truck with 3/8th flanges? Should I get those or the ones you suggested ryoken?

Hmm, when I called the guy said 3/8ths, maybe he was wrong.

Is 5/16th okay then or no? I am going with some copper header and collector gaskets from eBay. is 28 bucks too pricey?

Can I run just headers for a few days or is that illegal/dangerous in any way?

5/16 is fine....

open headers are fine to run, but deafeningly load... sound cool, but cops will pull you over for sure... i'd be going right to the muffler shop....

Alrighty, thanks!! I will just get the ones from summit then.

The summit and flowtech ones look almost the same...am I paying $50 more for a brand or are hooker much better?

There was a thread about that not too long ago...
When you are driving with them, have a muffler shop's address and phone+directions written on a piece of paper, for whichever shop is in the area you'll be driving to.. This way "Here officer, I'm on my way to get my exhaust done now".. Unless your officer hasn't had his donut, it should work..

I'd run the dead-soft gaskets at the collector end. Thin stuff has a tendency for too much blow-by and leakage.

I doubt those headers will fit a truck as they look different. As ryoken said, they look like street or hot rod headers. Not enough bends to go around the frame, crossmember and motor mounts.

For $50, and them being chrome, its still cheap enough to buy and if they don't fit or work, you can always resell them possibly for a little more on eBay.

Is it really that loud that I would get pulled over? Damn!

I am thinking after I pass emissons in may, gutting the cats for two years until I have to pass them again.

Paying the extra money will almost guarantee you perfect fitment due to knowing what you are ordering.

Why pay twice to get something that can be done right the first time? :wink1:

16g tube as oppose to 18g tube... big dif... 18g er's sound tinny and rust out easier...

Ahh I didnt notice that, thanks!! I will get those on friday when I get paid, and hopefully order my cat and muffler that day too, and install it in 2 weeks on my next check.

tip on header gaskets, if u run thin flanges, try runnin the stock metal manifold gaskets especially if ur headers are a little tweaked and dont seal worth a crap, the stock gaskets will seal way better than any header gasket made
