Will this cylinder work for me?

I got this in trade, but I am concerned about the .625" rod size. I'm running 35" tires with a locked d60 on a 6500lb rig in the rocks.

Same cylinder I had when I was assisted still. Ran it for like 5 year but I did bend the rod once beating the cylinder against rocks in South Dakota though. Was pretty vulnerable and some pretty rugged terrain. I wouldn't be afraid to run it. This rig:

Most I've seen had .75" rods on 1.5 cylinders. I think I'll run it 'til.

If you can keep it off the rocks it will work fine. The nice thing about a smaller rod is it will be closer to having the same amount of power both directions. With a 1 inch rod in a 1.5 inch cylinder, you have way more power one way than the other. I've never tried one so maybe you can't even tell.
