Anyone ever put a tunnel ram in their truck? I need to break in an engine for my Z-28 and since I need to rebuild my 383 in my blazer I figured I would slip it in there for a couple of months. BUT>>>>>>the engine sits so for back I am not sure if the carbs will clear the firewall and the cowl. Here is a picture of the intake and carbs. intake pic

I have some old hoods laying around so I am not concerned with the fact that I have to cut one to make it fit.

Lets try this, I have a couple of bare small blocks sitting around I could drop into my 70 2 wd pickup. I will set it on there and see. Is the 2 wd pickups clearences all the same or do you know?

there are 6 holes in the frame the 2 wheel drives use the 4 front the 4 wheel use the 4 rear, setting the motor 4 inches closer to the firewall than the 2 wheel

man oh man that would be bad ass!
THat would be sweet having a romping 383 with dual quad's sticking outta the hood!
You will definatly have to take some pictures of that.
Looks like it might just be possible, but might be too close also.
I was wondering the same thing... I've always wanted to have a blower sticking out of the hood of my blazer... but i don't think it would clear the firewall without moving the engine foreward...

I doubt it but...
Anyone ever had a blower on their first gen K/5!?!?!?

Good information, thanks. I guess I will jsut run the engine in my pickup for a while if it goes. Wonder why they did that... Thanks.

did it for front driveshaft angles..... with the motor further back it made the shaft longer
