my uncle is giving me a set of Doug Thorley tri-Y headers, he says they came off of a 4x4 chevy with a 350, but it was older than mine. does my 1989 suburban have that AIR thing? will that effect my emissions legality with these headers? i don't have a smog pump.

If you don't have the smog pump or it never had one, then you can use the headers fine.

To check if you have AIR manifolds, look on them and see if there are any fittings with pipes and hoses coming out of them. If there are none, you do not have AIR.

You can use the headers fine, and get by without using the AIR injectors by capping off the plugs on the headers if so equipped.

But wherever you live, I don't know what to tell you for smog laws.

I'm not picking my nose...I'm just pointing at my brain!!
