I was planning to build nearly that exact same thing! Frickin copy cats lol.
My uncle has a 53 Willy's pickup laying around his farm that he got at an auction about 30 years ago. We've went back and forth on it for years... When I had no way to trailer it he said I could have it, when I did he wanted to restore it. Then last I knew he wasn't gonna touch it, but doesn't like my idea of a ratrod on a lowered modern chassis. He'd rather see it stay 4x4... So it'll sit :doah:
 
My friend put one on a 77 k5 chassis. Execution was lacking because he didn't want to put any real money into it.

Last I saw it runs and drives, but the front axle is about 4 inches too close to the firewall and there are 4x4 wood blocks holding up the front sheet metal
