Anyone know anything about these ? i found some reviews from impala's n stuff, but not from trucks. I have a 85 suburban diesel i want to put these on. It's my daily driver so i don't mind spending some extra money on braking/safety. The thing i'm most concerned about this kit is the 'one fits all ' thing, as i know some trucks have different piston diameters than others. What do you guys think ?
thanks in advance,
Matt

Those are a direct replacement for a factory front GM caliper but they are made of aluminum and have dual pistons. If you don't have any braking issues now then there is no need to spend money on those unless you want bragging rights.

The bragging thing is not important to me, but i heard they give 20% more braking power over stock. So i thought it was pretty easy way to improve safety. The brakes need rebuilding anyway

I have a set on one of my cars, they work very well for the application. I am using the truck design calipers because I have a custom rotor 1.25 inches thick. I bought them to save weight, help reject heat and have a better distribution of clamping force on the pad. So far I am very pleased.

Convert to disks in he rear. It will evenly get your trucks mass slowing down better rather than putting it all on the front brakes.

Your parking brake will be the issue though. Someone needs to do a drum in hat disk conversion write up...

What is the diameter of the stock single piston? It seems like 6.28 square inches (dual 2" pistons) would not be much if any improvement in surface area (clamping force) over the large single? If you are just in need of new calipers, I paid $12 each for remans at Autozone, the $400 you could save there would more than buy you a new dual diaphragm booster and convert the rear to disk.

They do look pimp though, and I would be a little envious of them (even if they made no improvement)
