Here is my bumper build so far. Still need to clean it up, add bracing and cut for the fairlead, but for the most part it all there. Started with TE center mount winch bumper, a military brush guard and a stock bumper. (Rebar on the brushguard was there when I got it, it is coming off)

Looks great. Nicely packaged behind the bumper. How far forward is your bumper now compared to stock?

actually with cutting the stock bumper mounts and welding the top half of the mounts onto the top of the TE mount the bumper is less than a 1/4 higher than the stock position.
the bottom of the bumper is also notched to fit around the center mount and flush mount up to each other.

looks good. i have a 86 M1009 that i want to do the same thing to. it will have the same brush guard

I'm about to do a similar hidden winch-mount for my M1010, but you beat me to it :doah:

Good thing is, now I can steal some ideas from you :D
And I think I will, because that looks really good :waytogo:

What company makes the "TE"-mount?
Do you have more pictures of it, perhaps before the front-piece was mounted?

Center mount is Twisted Engineering (see vendors forum). Those are all the pictures I have of it mounted prior to the bumper install. The only thing i added to TE center mount was cutting the top of the frame mount brackets off and welding those to the top of the TE center mount to bolt bumper too.

M8000 winch just rotated the engage handle forward.

looks good.. I want to put a 12k hydro between my front frame rails.... some day... errr need electrical done first!!!!!!!

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I can't find anything about TE in the vendor forum.
Was it a custom piece, or do they massproduce it?

I tried fitting a M12K and a 8K PTO in this same spot, did not look like it would work.

I think a 9K or smaller is all that will fit without huge protrusion.

Wow.... gonna drag up an OLD thread.

Anyone knowing TE is still in business and making thos center mount? If not any better pictures of it?

wow.. thats out of my head now...

most 10,000lb winches

im lookin at an 18k for front and 25k for rear...

It's the width between the frame rails that sets the limit.
I made a home built hidden winch mount inspired by this cradle, and it works with my 12k winch with some trimming.
But with a 15k winch, I think you have to mount it on top of the rails.
