I picked up a 1979 GMC truck today. It's for the most part all original. Factory air, blows cold, factory dash pad, seat and paint... Only has 56k original miles, pretty clean truck. I'm going to try and keep it stock looking. Does anyone make a winch carrier for this year truck. Will the warn transformer work? I can't really find anything on line. Here are some pics I took today. I will take more later. I picked it up today drove it 40 min back to my shop, running 70mph and it was amazingly tight for its age. Time will tell, I have not even had a chance to wash it yet.

I love your truck. Warn pretty much abandoned our year models a long time ago when it came to winch mounts. I looked at the Trans4mer you mentioned on their site. The oldest years they have listed for that system is the 88-99 round body pickups and Tahoe style Blazers. I think your only options will probably be to find something used or to get something fabbed and built.

Just remember that they changed the frame horns in 1981 when they changed the front clip. So if you look for a used Warn bumper make sure it's the one that fits '73 - '80 frame horns. Ask me how I know. I found the one I have on Craigslist. I've seem some members selling them here in the classifieds.
