winch electrical question

What are you guys using for circuit protection on you winch battery cables? I have my truck set up for remote mount front and rear. Thinking some circuit protection would be a good idea. What amperage is neccesary? Or is it neccesary?

I use a marine circuit fuse. It's around a 500amp fuse IIRC on a Ramsey Patriot.

I still have to clean this area up a little.

as mentioned, an ANL marine fuse is probably your best bet...

in a good holder....

slow blow and up to 800 amps available... winch MIGHT see 1/2 that amount... I'd run a 500 like AZ...

Where can one find one of these and how much do they cost? I'm about finished with my front bumper and have to hook my winch up and previously i did not have any kind of fuse between the battery and winch and would like to install one this time.

Couple places I looked had 250 amp which I didnt think would be enough. Gonna order online I guess. 500 AMP is what I want?

I looked up the specs on the Warn XD9000 winch i have and the highest amp draw is 460amps @ 9000 lbs. line pull so would you recommend a 500amp fuse then?

Thanks found it now. I was looking at the fuse block section where they list the same style as the picture you put up, but only in 300 and 750. In the fuses section they list all the diffrent sizes.
