winch gear ratios warn and ramset 12k

I see that, unless I am mistaken, the Ramsey 12k has a gear ratio of 470:1 w/4.8hp motor and the Warn 12k is 261:1 with a 4.6hp motor.

Wouldnt this make the Ramsey extremely slow compared to the Warn. And I mean, real slow.

Whats the deal?
