ok so now ryoken has helped me figure out the wiring for my winch setup...

also explained other things to me..

so i have a pic added... it is the box that the batteries will be in and this covers the winch that is between the frame rails. now this box will sit up 1" higher...

but the way it is set is this...

batteries facing each other... 3/0 cable connecting them to the winch...

what i need to know of where would you mount.. would be this..

i need to pount the dual battery selector switch, anl 600A fuse and the 4 relay pack off of the winch....

now originally i thought i would put them behind the batteries but didnt think it was going to be that tight... as it is...

so...
should i mount all of them on the inside of the front.. so from your point of view you will not see them... or put them to the left or right side?

i think this is really a non thinking thing.. but trying to get some opinions.. and yes i am over thinking this and over complicating it...

as you can see my wires are long enough to do anything..

the ground wire will go from the batteries and into the bed.... no big deal..

the hot wire backwards from the batteries to the fuse to the switch.. so i kinda want the switch in an easy to reach place (understanding ryoken explained that you do not switch the switch while truck is running.. so if i think im gonna get stuck.. switch over to it ahead of time...

I would mount everything on the inside front wall... the bat switches ARE availble in surface mount, or flush mount... you could actually holesaw a hole, and have wires on the inside, and knob on the outside.. like my e-box..... or have it surface mounted on the inside for security, etc reasons if you want that....

oh, and I have to remind you... metal box = make sure you run excellent chafe protection, grommeting, chordgrips, run thru bulkhead fittings if your anal....

i have always loved your setup...

yes i saw i can put the switch on the outside.. but the box is in the back.. the switch may hit the tailgate.. if not it is just too close for me..

ill mount it all inside....

and the grommet anal part.... no worries...

recharge wire will go from under hood, along frame rails and up through where the huge winch hole is.. so no gromets, holes or chafing... but i will find a cable style metal holder... hard to explain....

and all other wires are contained within....

so i see your switch is red.. is there an amperage difference?
my winch CAN draw 480A max... thus why i went so overkill....and originally had it over 20' (under hood to rear of fullsize pickup...).. now it is all within 5'

yo ryoken... i may need a huge favor from you... a trust worthy one too....

if i cannot get my truck through inspection... could i possibly borrow your 38's if on 8 lug rims.. to get my truck through inspection if i fail with my 40's?

they said they wont pass me (over the phone) cus the tires need to be no bigger than 38.0" and im 38.25".....

a big trust thing.. but hell you can go to inspection with me!!!! and or hold my 40's hostage until i get back...

if i fail inspection.. ill borrow someones to get through inspection and put my hawgs back on and screw them....

I wouldn't bat an eye at it, prob being, I'll bet the farm they'll fail for dryrot.... I don't plan on running em thru inspection, I've got access to some 35 malls for when that comes up...

sh*t, they didn't explode in the mexicans face when on the tire machine, I'll run em...

crap that sucks... yup they will fail them for that...
well i didnt post it up yet but i figure IF i have to someone on here, pavementsucks or maybe even a person on pirate (wont hold breath) will be able to hook me up....:haha:

that is the november 14th next step - inspection... and if u wanna go let me know.. u can ride over with me to see the utter bull shlit they put me through...

38.25?? Heck, just make a rock run, or let one of these guys do it. From the videos I've seen, you can grind .25 inches off easy...............

sorry, missed this...

my Blue Seas is good for 350 amps continuous, 600 for 5 minutes and 2000 for 10 seconds...

it was a freebie, so hey... I have no concern about running a single winch thru it.. remember the majority of the time your not pulling max amps..

at some point I'll want/need to upgrade it to the diesel version which are 500 continuous, 700 intermittent, 1150 for a minute and 2750 for 10 sec....

any of the manny's dizzle ones take huge amperages.. Guest makes a nice switch too.. Perko's aren't bad, but not quite as good as the Guest imo...
