Readymix came over today with his welder and angle grinder with cutoff wheel and well this is what happened.

Had to do some recycling to start the relocation.

This is the winch and mount plate mocked up between the frame rails.

Had to relocate the solenoids also and did not have enough cable to mount inside the engine compartment so we picked a nice location above the passanger spring. Up nice and high and will not get hit by the tire:D .

My new approach angle:D

The mount is all 1/4 plate as well as the fairlead mount and "skidplate". We also modified the CUCV Shackle Mounts to fit inside the frame rails to allow me to go to 56s in the front later on. They have also been integrated into the fairlead mount.

The new mounts only stick out about 6 inches and most of that is the roller fairlead. When I put my Amsteal Blue on I will change to a hawse fairlead and bring it in a little more.

And here it is all done.

I will try and answer any questions if anyone intends to do this in the future.

Dang, that came out great. Plenty of clearance, and looks strong as 'ell! :waytogo: :waytogo:

Nice job Irene.........[cough] I mean Ira. :D

That old bumper looks worse than a Warn for clearance. I used to hang on mine constantly before it was modified. Nothing worse than following a group of Blazers only to get high centered on your bumper. :doah:

Anything fits with enough :hack:

True Dat:D . My only concern now is removing it to paint it all. Some of the fitting is pretty tight and the fairlead mount is welded to the shackle brackets so it has to come out as a unit.
