I recently got a Tabor 12K winch and the books says to prestrech the rope/cable. Right now I just have my winch mounted and tightened up my hook so it doesnt bounce everywhere.

After I get my control box mounted under the firewall I plan on doing those. How have you guys done it. Run your cable out, hook it to something and drag the truck it or what?

I was thinking I would just set my E-Brake in my Blazer and drag one of my other trucks to in with the E-Brake in it just barely set to produce some tension.

You got the idea!
Hook to something solid, and create some drag(E-brake partially engaged or someone in the cab using service brakes) and spool it up. Make sure to guide the cable so it wraps evenly, if you don't it may pinch some of the lower windings if making a short pull.
