Being in the Army, and being a mechanic I know the value of having a working winch (My other ride is a HEMMT wrecker). My budget just isn't going to cover a new warn winch. I've been doing some looking and came across Bulldog Winch. Does anybody have any experience(good or bad) with these winches:confused:, because they fit into my budget pretty well. Also what recomendations do you guys have for a front bumper since my truck didnt have one at all when I bought it. $800 is really what I can afford for the bumper I've been looking at BOR and ORD and really cant decide what would be better the BOR Price looks a little better IMHO.

I personally dont' know anything about Bulldog winches but I have had good experience with mile market winches, the electric ones. I bought the current warn I have used.

I have buddies with mile markers and we have beat the crap out of them on full size trucks pulling trucks stuck to the axles in mud (with at least 40" tires) pulling trucks out of rocks, moving rocks around, etc etc etc.

So I say look for a mile marker if a warn or ramsey or superwinch is not in the budget

As far as a bumper check with Kert at Diy4x.com. He's a member here as well and makes some great stuff. He will even help you custom design whatever you want.

I was just looking at his Bumper. It looks really good just needs some grille protection. He might just get the business because my truck is in Iowa, its quite a drive, but I think im gonna make that one when get home on mid-tour leave in August. I'm out in Afghanistan right now.

Smittybuilt 8k is only $300 and people are pretty happy with them

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking I might actually pick a BD up now. I want the 12k just because I don't to get caught with to small of a winch. Thanks for all of the info everyone.

I've had good luck with an ORD front bumper and a Ramsey REP 9.5.
