alright i found rockstomper....but it looks as if BlackMesa is cheaper....i need 3/8 125`....am i wrong or are they cheaper...i`m looking for red
I can't attest to Scott's business (although I've heard he's a good guy) but BlackMesa has some of the best prices around and their service is second to none. I've ordered rather small items from them a couple of times and always been treated extremely well. Besides, they support CK5.

Yep. You really might want to reconsider the need for synthetic. I'm in the market too, but really I'm only doing so for the added safety since I'll have my young nephews with me a lot this summer and I'll be the adult with the most experience (and that is scary!
) I figure it will add a little safety to the mix.

i think i really need the added safety too, because this is my first time, and i have a feeling i`m getting stuck alot...so it would be good, but i just wanted to know who has the best prices...better than 360 for 125` of 3/8 color red or gray....

I personally wouldnt get 125', thats alot of line! I helped prestrech a 100ft line and damn its long. Unless you find yourself or others in possitions that are far from anything solid or something, 100ft is the max i would get.

If safety is the only factor, invest in a couple line flags. They're a LOT cheaper than the synthetic rope.

I want to get it for weight savings. My Warn HS9500i is mounted on the multi mount platform and I have to lift that thing in and out all the time. It's a pig with the stock line on there.

I've yet to see a line or anchor break or give, but I always wonder if weights on the line really would make much of a difference. Anyone every see them do their job?
Weight on the multimount is a good point, moving that thing to the back of the rig in soupy mud is always the highlight of the day!

Hence the reasoning why you want a pretty damn solid hookup point and not like a ball hitch, cause those things might just come back with the cable towards your head. What the cable weights will do is under a failure like has been talked about, it will hold down the broken cable. Think a Navy fighter landing on an aircraft carrier.
