Hey guys, ive just got hold of a wind deflecter for my front bumper, question is do they actually do anything :doah:or is it just an add on ?I must say with my new 91 grill and this deflecter it completly changes the look of my blazer!Me likey !

Is your Blazer completely stock? If not, even if it is just oversized tires and small lift, it does nothing. I am not entirely convinced it did a whole lot even on a stock 4 wheel drive Blazer.

Rip it off and throw that damn thing in the trash! Hows that for brutal honesty. :D :haha:

OK I can settle this whole debate.:D I need money for 600 gallons of fuel and I will remove mine. Re pack the truck and retrace my 2008 road trip. We can see if my mileage changes with out the deflector. :haha::haha::haha:

Actually it's main purpose isn't to deflect air from the underside of the chassis, although deflection is part of it. It increases the high pressure area in front of the radiator, forcing air through the radiator for better cooling.

If you take a look at a lot of modern cars, they have a pretty streamlined front nose section that doesn't seem to have any area designated for the radiator - this is because the front spoiler forces air that is next to the ground up and into the radiator, instead of having a lot of drag inducing surface area increasing the coefficient of drag.

mine popped off while mudding several years ago and it's been off since. looks better imo and no difference in cooling or mpg in my case. water temp stays between 190 and 200 whether it's 30 degrees out or 110.

Oh well i think it looks cool any how.

Pimpdaddy, thanks man,i will try and get some pics on saturday i had a tuff time fitting them to be honest, what you are supposed to do is change the whole radiator support, coz mine is an 82 its only got one hole either side to hold the lights, what i did was i riveted some supports onto the light holders and bent them to fit it actually came out well they are straight as it would be if it was original.I think it makes such a nice change to the front , ive never liked the 82 grills !What year is yours ?

i think he means the lights behind the grille..how did you mount them..

i on the other hand would like to see how you mounted the side by side headlights to a 82 rad support..did you buy the lights, buckets, bezels, & grille new and fit it to the 82 support or did you get the lights, buckets, bezels, & grille off a donor truck? i want to mount up 89-90 headlights & bezels on my 85

my cousin has a 1981 k1500 ,and he replaces that plastic spoiler very often. he says its stop dirt from flying in windsheild when crossing water holes in dirt roads.when its off he says his windsheild gets more dirty.
