Does anyone have a picture of screw that hold door metal to wind wing assembly together ? I know it’s a #12 , but still not going together correctly !!

I can probably get you a picture of the screws, just to be sure, Is this for the Vent Window to reattach to the door Frame ?

Verifying was that your post in December with the Pictures ?

If so and you are reinstalling a vent window, I can get you Pictures of all 5 screws as My vents are being rebuilt and out of my blazer.

It appears you want the screw from the door inside panel to the vent window itself.

Yes on all of your questions. Thank You

I can send pictures and lengths tonight, as for the Screw(s) Diameter, I will need to go by a parts house to give you 100% verification of the exact type and diameter. I will probably purchase new screws for my restoration so I will have to get them duplicated.

That sounds great, I was checking on drivers door through hole with a flashlight & metal tab on door looks cracked. As in some point in time someone over tightened it. Could be why there’s not a screw in that door, but passenger door looks okay. By the way,you mentioned your replacement of wind wings. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you getting them from & are they made in USA ??

I'm sorry that I did not get a chance to take pictures last night, I will address ASAP.

As far as the cracking, I cannot tell you, as the screw/bolt tightens up against the door face to hold the vent window secure in this one connection point ... Once you have the screws, you could consider some Loctite blue or which ever is the one you can loosen up relatively easy. I think Loctite Red is the heavy duty one.

As you know, you have five attachment points 3 are on the door edge (two on the side and one on top), two on the door panel face ( one high, the long screw, and one low, the machine bolt.

LMC shows 4 of the 5 screws for sale, they do not show the one I think you are looking for. (#11, #12, #13) Maybe because their replacement windows do have that secure point, I don't know.

I had my original units rebuilt at a place in Oregon called Dr J's Restoration Rx The man I worked with name is Jerry and outstanding gentleman. He completely restored the units and look beautiful. It was expensive, more than LMC offers when they have them in stock.
The swing rivet on the base was broken and he restored mine to look brand new, painted, new gaskets, new locks, new spring, etc. Go to his web page and read about his restoration process.

I found out Precision Products rebuilds them as well but I went with Jerry after talking to him.

You can also check on this site to see if anyone has a set to sell ... I also bought a used set from a 1983 C-10 to have redone for another project at some time in the future.

I'll get back with the information.

Thank You for ALL the info ! I personally don’t like ordering stuff from LMC , have in the past & everything is made outside US. It is nice to know there are still some people here in the US taking pride in rebuilding these old truck parts. I’ll check into Jerry for sure, I’ll gladly pay extra for new replacement, rather than taking on another older wind wing assembly that would probably need it done to also.

Not sure where you would even find a new Wing Window ... Even if yours and not in the best condition, I would consider a complete rebuild and be done with it. I am 100% satisfied I did with mine and I still have original equipment on the unit.

Here are the 5 screw / bolt that you need and the location. I do not have the size at this time, only the length, but I will get that information for you when I go to the hardware store.

Also the Door Face / Top Screw has an E-Clip Nut that fits into on the inner door ... so the E-Clip Nut could be stripped and if so that would be an easy replacement when the window is out ... I will get a picture of that as well ...
