Any of you have advice on replacing a window crank on a 1970 Blazer? I'm starting to come up with new swear words in this whole process!! I have the new crank in place, but cannot get the rollers to fit where they belong. Please help!!

Are you replacing the whole scissor mechanism, or just a part of it? I remember replacing the whole assembly and wasn't aware that it was possible to replace just part of it. Can you post a picture?

I am replacing the whole scissor mechanism.. I took it apart about a year ago, and am just now trying to put it back together.... so I've forgot how I got it out the first time. I have it 3/4 ths of the way in, with two of the three rollers in place, but have no idea how to get the third. Is there a certain procedure in putting these things in? Thanks!!

My haynes manual talks about it some but it doesn't give the year just covers 67 thru 87.

You want the window all the way down.

move the window glass forward and in a level position

tilt the front edge up until the rear roller can engage

slide the window forward until the front roller is in alignment with the notch in the sash channel put the roller in.

Seems like I remember moving the mechanism up until the scissors moved enough to get the rollers in.

Also I assume your vent window is out???

Sorry about the best I can tell you. I just remember it not being fun or easy.

Thanks a bunch for the info... very helpful!!! I'll give it a try this weekend
