window frame repair question

say i found a good 67-72 but needed some rust repair. i have no problem doing that. but i have never found a good way to repair the top of the windshield frame area that rusts out up hear in the northeast.

how do you guys do it?

how do you keep them from rusting out if you have a nice clean one to start?

Only way I've found is to cut out the bad and replace it with donor metal.

This is a truck firewall I'm grafting onto a rust free blazer tub.

these pictures are great.I just cut the roof off of a doner truck [not a blazer ] and am going to try an atempt at grafting it with some fabraction for the face. blazers are hard to come by for butchering [not to mention it would slay me to ruin a good blazer] so I'm hopeing the truck window frame thing works. is there any more pictures of the grafting.
