Someone broke the window in my truck the other day to steal some tools I had in my cab. Ordered a window from a guy online and its already glued into the window frame. Do I need to cut the window out of the frame, slide the frame on the scissor piece in the door, then glue the window back in the frame? Or is it possible to maneuver the window and frame still glued together onto the scissor piece in the door? I tried for like 5 min. today but quit cause it was getting dark and I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.. anyone?

I did one on my '83 sierra. Pass side was busted out. Dont remember exactly how it all went but I know one thing. If you cut the frame off of it your gonna wish you never did. Probably end up giving you even more problems. If I remember correctly I think I took out the 1/4 window so I could slide it in there.

hte vent window MUST be removed to get the window in or out.

really? my window and frame somehow came completely off my scissor piece. i thought i remember taking the complete window and frame out of the door a couple times when trying to get it back on the scissors w/o taking out the vent....that was 2 yrs ago, so i could be wrong

it can come apart, but you will not be able to get the window out of the door unless you take the vent window out

Unless you got a '73-75 K5! No need to remove vent window then.
