99 gmc seirra. half ton. window stopped working last night. tore it apart this morning and found that the motor is still working but its got some wire cables that dont seem to be attached to anything. one with a spring above the motor. two that run down by the bottom end of the door. the glass is up and moves by hand, but moves with effort. any suggestions as to fixing this??

Sounds like your regulator is toast. Dealership will have one, or try the junkyards in your area.

Yep you need a new regulator. We run an auto glass repair shop and what you've described is a dead reg. Dealer or Ebay is a good spot to look. If you get a used one it could last forever or pack it in tomorrow. So I'd always try new first, but if you go ebay don't buy the cheap Chinese ones as they can be junk
