You probably need to right click and choose install as administrator. Also Windows 7 wont allow you to save things in the programs directory. Meaning if any of those programs save log files to c:\programs it wont work you need to install in your my document directory if that's the case.

You can change that by changing the security for that folder. Add yourself and give yourself full control.

Some of us have work laptops so that doesn't always work. They give us psuedo admin priveledges. I havn't bought a computer in years.

It's probably your USB ports. Plug your stuff in and go to devices and see what port it's now on. Needs to be COM 3-4. Sometimes it takes removing all USB, using the driver cleaner from Moates, install drivers, plug in cables and restart. Force them to Com 3-4 and everything else will find a way to work other USB ports. My Windows 7 changes between 2 of my 3 USB ports, never know which one. So try another port first, leave cable plugged in and restart, no connection? Try another USB port.
