after the roof of my s-10 got crushed i am thinking about goig convertable. The windsheild got crushed so i cant make it like a 73-75. Is it legal to have no windsheild. Jeeps do it and so do motor cycles. What do you think about a s-10 doing it?

also does it have to be a special type, i was just looking at the damage and i could save most of the a pillar and use plexi glass, do you think this would fly?

I don't know about IL specifically, but most (if not all) states require a windshield made from laminated glass.

Either that or you have to wear what the MC guys wear - a helmet or just eye protection depending on the state.

That's how it is in MI.
If you have a windshield, it has to conform to standards but if you don't have one, you have to wear eye protection over 35mph.

Check your local laws. You should be able to find something online.
Don't bother calling a cop shop, though. They're generally clueless.

as long as u have eye protection its all good. That sucks about ur s-10 i have a 2 door version with no title if u need some parts let me know.

Canadian law

Eye protection, and must have windsheild wipers!!...yes...crazy eh!!

i don't know about there, but i think that here, in texas, we don't have to have windshields, but we do have to have wipers. ha. pretty dumb
