ok so i am really pissed off that I just got a pebble into the windshield and now a nice crack is forming. Its not leaking or anything yet and its only like 2" long. This poses a a big issue since the 2 bottom corners of my windshield frame and nice and bubbly. There isn't any replacement panels for those areas are there or is it something I have to either make or cut off of something rust free?

Your kinda screwed there I have not seen any patch panels for that area its not a common rust area on these trucks Your best bet is to find a donor in the junk yard

I just had to do that. I went to pic-a-part with my cordless sawzall and took the whole roof and windshield posts.

hey so i figured out why that part rusted out. Its because of water leaking past the bolts holding my visor on.

Just don't let it go on too long or you will be doing a replacement like mine

Just about every GM truck in new england has rust in the sun visor areas and at the bottom of the windsheild,including mine..most glass companies slather on "tiger hair" in the holes and do a quickie sanding job at best--or that expanding foam--(if anything at all!)..body shops dont like touching rust in my area,so your stuck welding or bondoing patches in yourself..

And yes, finding a good panel in the yard would be the best bet. If you can't find something, I can see what we have here, and will be going out to MA/CT area mid may.

Ya I had my frame repaired by a body shop because of a lack of time and I really just wanted the truck back on the road. Click on my build thread in my sig and see the before and after pics on the last few pages.
