Hey guys I am looking to replace my windshield post on my 72 K5. When I Got the truck the truck the wind shield had been pushed over the dash. The side post are bent Beyond repair, does anybody know where to find replacements?
I don’t know if any after market parts so your best source is a donor Blazer/PU/Burb. How extensive is the damage? Is it just the posts or the header that the top attaches to? Pics would be really helpful but you’re gonna have trouble posting without a membership.
The damage was pretty extensive, the truck was in the scrap line and had the entire dash/ firewall portion crushed by the grapple. I was trying to avoid having to replace the entire A-pillar. do you think that I could use a C/K pickup as the donor.
How good are your welding skills and metal work? If you plan on running a hardtop then it’d be pretty involved to use one from a pickup/Burb.
Or if you can’t find something local then you could call Bill O’Grady at Vintage Chevy Trucks. He use to be in Fremont,CA but looks like he recently moved his shop to Bend,OR. He has everything you can imagine for a first gen.
I have fairly decent metal working skills. Perfect by no means but I can make due. Thank you for the source Ill look into Vintage Chevy Trucks. Thank you for the help.
