It's already cracked but I'd rather not just bash it out.

I've seen something looking like a garrotte (sp?) being sold. Basically a piece of piano wire between two dowel rods. Easy enough to make but how do you get it under the rubber seal in the first place? I'd like to use the rubber again if I could and anything I think of would tear up at least part of it:rolleyes:

Should have paid attention when that guy was replacing one in about 15 minutes:doah:

Advise on putting in a new one as well:D:D

If its already cracked , just remove the lockstrip , and push it out . Use your feet is easiest . I took mine out by hand pushing .

I removed the lockstrip, used soapy water and worked my way around with three flexable plastic butter knives, worked like a champ. Work your way from a top corner down about half way and then across the top and down the other edge and then the bottom lip comes out pretty easy.

I'll give it a try. This has a sealant in there as well so could be tough going. I've pulled the seats so using my feet won't work as well:doah:

I'm going for the rubber seal as it's in very good shape and the dashboard frame to replace the cut up Mil M1009. Started another thread on removing the dash frame which could be a job in itself!
