Can these be obtained in original form? It looks like all the parts stores want to sell "universal" pumps that would not look right or mount properly in the original location.

I'm assuming I need a pump anyway. When I press in, I hear a click kind of like a relay, but no fluid...

if I was concerned I'd check that the pump was getting 12V when the switch was depressed. I'd certainly want to make sure that was occurring before replacing the pump.

This an in-tank unit, or wiper motor mounted?

It's all in one assembly on the firewall. I couldn't even tell you right now which part is the pump. I could double check the electrical, but the fact that it's clicking indicates that the switch is working.

I'm probably biased, but the in-tank mounted units are better. Honestly no clue if one lasts any longer than the other one, I just like the in-tank setups more lol.

IIRC the wiper assemblies have one three wire plug (fairly large wires) and on your setup, a smaller two wire plug that would be the pump. I swapped my wiper motor a few weeks back, and I recall a fairly good sized three wire plug, which would be the same as yours since the motor portions didn't change in that regard.

When the OEM pump starts acting up on my GM trucks and the cars I've owned (and just about all of them did !),I just added one of the Trico universal pumps in-line to the tank and by-passed the OEM one built into the pump..they always seem to screw up,either they wont turn on,pump,or the dam thing keeps pumping until the tank is empty..

You can mess around with the contacts in the OEM wiper motor/pump combo and get them to work right, and a month later the next time you go to use it,it doesn't work,or wont stop pumping again..

You can use the existing wires on the OEM pump to activate the aftermarket pump,no butchery required...

Purists might cringe at the thought of using a universal washer pump, but I consider adding one an upgrade..

Here's what I have going on. It has three connectors. I assume the upper left part is the pump. It has two connectors, which is weird to me. I can't figure out how to remove the right one. Left one came off and contacts are a little corroded. I cleaned them a little but no effect. If anyone knows how to remove the other connector, let me know. I don't want to break it.

Been a long time since I dealt with one of those lol. Is there not a lock on the underside of it maybe? Either one you have to depress, or pull down, similar to the three wire plug that goes to the wiper motor?

The connector is new to me. It turns out you squeeze the connector itself, like squeezing at where the two wires come in. It spreads the other side apart and allows it to be removed.

Anyway, I futzed with stuff a bit and cleaned the connections and it started squirting a little, plus a ton of fluid poured out off the pump onto the firewall. And one of the squirters sprayed over the top of the truck and the stream landed almost a full car length behind. Crazy. Not real easy to adjust either. Scratched my nice paint trying to bend with needle nose pliers...

They have repair kits for the pumps consisting of a couple rubber o-rings and new nozzles. I'm going to give it a shot.

Did you try the repair kit and not have luck? That's kind of neat they offer it.

The price of that wiper motor assembly is why the later versions with separate washer motor are better lol. Holy cow.

I'm still going to try the repair kit first. I'm skeptical though because it has nothing to fix up the seal for the little plastic pump piston. There must be some sort of piston ring like rubber seal in there, though I haven't pulled it apart to see. Some fluid was leaking out the bottom of the pump area if I'm not mistaken.

I did find another identical looking one on ebay for $55.
