On occasion, meaning, doesnt happen all the time.

When I put my wipers on and use the intermitted portion of the wiper controls, they either will go full bore, or when I turn it off, they will stop at the exact point I turned it, meaning the wipers could be in the up position, etc.

Or they wont turn off at all.

Is this the wiper control on column, motor, or something else?

If it is wiper control, how hard is that to change.

Anything else to check?

Check the park switch on the wiper motor. It is usually responsible for the stopping in the middle of the windshield anyway.

Yeah, as far as I've been able to tell just about any malfunction in the wiper circuit seems to rest in the motor assembly itself.

Mine likes to not shut off after using delay. As the truck warms up (and maybe dries out the wiper motor? the problem seems to go away. Compared to modern vehicles, the delay in mine (at least) sucks. Turning the knob is not proportional, most of the adjustment makes almost no change in frequency of wipes, then the very last little bit is super touchy.

I grabbed a new motor from pick a part for about $30. Installed it and seem to fix a similar problem I was having. I do use mine frequently here in So Cal.. Not cause of the weather but the dew when I get off work at 1:00am.

I had to replace the switch in the column on mine, not too bad of a job, just have to pull the wheel to get to it

Well , lets revisit this..................

I just drove my truck tonite, it started raining and i put on my wipers and the washer fluid started going and then it would go every time the wipers moved, no matter the position of the wiper switch. AFter about 10 min of driving, it finally straightened up.

Switch or motor??????????
