Windshield wiper problems

I have an '86 Sierra Classic, that came with delay wipers as an option, but my wipers do not park, and the delay does not work. They operate in one speed, and I must use the mist function to get them to stop. The PO installed a different column, when he went from a 4 speed to a TH350:(. That column did not have a delay stalk, but the wipers did not park and were one speed only. I then installed a tilt column, and a brand-new delay stalk from LMC, but the problem did not go away. I picked up two different modules (aluminum piece with fins and 7 wires in, and 5 wires out) at the local salvage yard, one of which came out of the column donating '89-91 Suburban. Well, neither of those made a difference. What am I missing? Aren't the wiper motors the same in delay/non-delay trucks, or did the PO possibly swap motors on me? Thanks a bunch for helping me out!

IIRC the park function is in the motor itself. I had the same problem replacing switches, modules, etc. Finally just replaced the motor and everything works perfectly. Lifetime warranty on the motor too.

Wow, those trouble shooting flowcharts are very nice. From the looks of it, it is the motor. I kinda figured that was what I would have to do, and both of you seem to agree. Where did you buy your motor, to get the lifetime warranty? I may go back to the salvage yard, but if it isn't too much, I will buy new. Thanks to both of you for your help. Hopefully, someone else will find this info useful, as well.

MIght suggest rockauto.com after finding out what the local replacement costs. Many times you can find higher quality parts at Rockauto for what they charge locally. If you can wait.
