windshield wiper swicth??

anybody here ever replaced the windshield wiper switch on a 1990 k5 blazer,i am not talking about the stalk,that pops right out,but the switch inside the column itself that the stalk inserts into,what needs to be done and how?? any hints would be welcome,thanks

Get a steering wheel puller. Lock plate compressor (both free at autozone to rent I bet).

Pull wheel off. Remove lockplate. Remove stalk. Remove hazard switch. Start unscrewing everything inside. Don't force anything. Once turn signal switch is loose, disconnect the wiring for it at base of column. Might need to drop the column from the dash to get clearance needed. Snake wiring/plug up through column.
