Haven't seen any recent "how did you mount your windstar fans" threads, so I'll start a new one. I'm getting started and decided to use the existing upper mounts from the rad support. Still deciding how best to mount it at the bottom. Right now the lower lip rests on the radiator fins, which is not ideal. My radiator is about 2" taller than a windstar I guess.

I'm liking the huge amount of space this frees up. :waytogo: For looks I'll eventually need to dream up a way to smooth over the gap at the top where the rad shows through.

Mine doesn't look like that. I didn't have to remove a whole edge off of anything. I had the same idea as you and welded extensions onto the upper rad mount brackets for the Windstar shroud to attach to. It looks like both of your D.S. shroud brackets are cut off. I was able to use the lower one and make an attachment to the core support.

I decided to move it over. Either way the plain windstar fan is too big to fit between the upper rad and heater hoses without some cutting. I have more than I need cut away. The mount on the pass side interferes with the heater hose at this height.

Anyway, here it is bolted to the rad supports. Just need a way to hold the bottom in place. It is now resting against the edges of the rad, not the fins.
